School District Guide

How school zones work in Manatee County, where to check a home's assigned schools, and what else to look at.

School district and attendance zones

Every public school in Manatee County is part of the School District of Manatee County. The public schools a home is zoned for depend on its address, not its town name, and zones can change as new schools open.

Check the zoned schools for the exact address

Before you fall for a house, look up its zoned elementary, middle, and high schools with the School District of Manatee County, and confirm with the district if the home sits near a boundary. Listings sometimes name schools, but zones change, so the district is the source to trust.

School grades and report cards

The Florida Department of Education publishes a grade and a report card for every public school each year. They're a useful starting point. A visit, and a conversation with parents at the school, tells you more.

Other options

Families here also look at charter schools, magnet and specialty programs, and private schools. Many have their own applications and deadlines, so start early.

Growth and new schools

Fast growth means school zones can shift as new schools open. When you compare new communities, ask which schools they're zoned for today and whether that's expected to change. What's Being Built tracks the projects we can source.

Why clients trust Leslie Wells Realty

What clients say

5.0 from 5 client reviews

“I was an out of state buyer and Agata Diggs represented me in the purchase of my second home. She was extremely responsive! Even if she couldn't talk at the moment, she would text me and tell me that she would call me in 15 minutes. She never left me wondering. I've recommended her to a few friends since then. She did a great job.”
