How this list works
A directory of the area's shopping centers, outlets and town centers, from each center's own website or its owner's or manager's pages (or, for the few without a website, city and county records, local news, and the stores' own pages), with every location checked against county property records. It's a directory, not a ranking. Two of them, Waterside Place and The Mall at University Town Center, are just over the county line in Sarasota County, and their entries say so. Stores come and go, so each entry links the center's own store directory where it has one, and says when its anchors were checked. Shops our agents recommend from experience are in their local favorites.
North of the River
