About Tara
Tara is a non-gated golf community of about 2,070 homes on 1,110 acres in Bradenton, bordered by State Road 70 on the north and I-75 on the east, in unincorporated Manatee County. The Tara Master Association covers two sections. Tara Golf & Country Club, on the northwest side, has about 1,023 homes around a private, member-owned course, and all but 153 of them require club membership. The Preserve at Tara, on the southeast side, has 1,046 homes built from 2002 to 2006 around the semi-private Preserve Golf Club and more than 50 ponds, and lies within the Tara Community Development District. Both courses are 18-hole, par 72 designs by Ted McAnlis. County records show single-family homes, paired villas, and condominiums built from 1988 to 2006. The Preserve has a community center with a pool, spa, and tennis and pickleball courts.
