About University Place
University Place is a gated neighborhood of single-family homes in unincorporated Manatee County, between Honore Avenue and I-75 about three quarters of a mile north of University Parkway, with Bradenton mailing addresses. Neal Communities developed it on 240 acres, and county records list 402 homes in seven sections, built from 2002 to 2006, nearly all one-story, of about 1,400 to 3,500 square feet on lots of about 0.14 to 0.48 acre. A community development district owns the roads, the perimeter fence, and two gated entrances, one with a guardhouse. The homeowners association maintains two pools with recreation buildings, an exercise room, a playground, a nature trail, and 16 ponds. The nearby Carolina Landings and Savannah Preserve condominiums share the name but lie outside the district and have their own associations.
