About Mount Vernon
Mount Vernon is a condominium community in west Bradenton, on the south side of Cortez Road West just east of 99th Street West, in unincorporated Manatee County. Its five phases were recorded from 1976 to 1978 under one declaration and cover about 81 acres. County records list 434 units built from 1976 to 1981, nearly all with two bedrooms and most of about 1,150 to 1,450 square feet. The Property Appraiser flags about 170 of the units as waterfront and records a swimming pool on the common area at 4701 Independence Drive. Mount Vernon Condominium Association was on Florida’s registry of housing for older persons (55+) from 2001 through its final 2020 list. A 180-acre conservation-zoned tract borders it to the south. There is no CDD.
